Cindy's Story

When I was a teenager, my highschool sweetheart, Randy, died. I think they called it "cardiac arrhythmia" but it sounds like the same thing. For the 3 years that we dated, he was a very active young man. He played basketball, baseball, etc... he had several episodes of fainting and had been in for testing, cat scans, you name it. The doctors said that it came from stress, most likely. He, being a young teenager with a serious girlfriend, parents, school, friends, and so many other issues.
The worst part of it was that his death was preventable, had we found out what was wrong...

Randy died in his home in the middle of the night. It is very difficult for me to write about this, still. It has only been 9 years and I am happily married, but it is still hard. Randy was going to be my husband, we were engaged to be married after we graduated highschool... He passed away during our senior year.

If I weren't a Christian from a young age, I never would have made it through my senior year. You see, we had a child together then, too. We both agreed to place her for adoption in a good strong Christian home. So I had both things to deal with. The baby was born in Feb. and he died in March. Randy was a Christian, too, so to know he is in heaven is the one comfort I had to lean on.

Thanks for your posting this, in hopes that it will save other young adults and children, and thank you for the reminder of how much God has carried me through.

Cindy.
